Zuloaga, Ignacio.
Ignacio Zuloaga, and Zuloaga (Spanish Ignacio Zuloaga y Zabaleta, July 26, 1870, Eibar - October 31, 1945, Madrid) - Spanish painter, is extremely popular in the late XIX - early XX centuries.
Born in the Basque Country. Son of the famous chaser, as a child he helped his father. He studied at the Jesuit school in France, then in Madrid, Paris, Rome. Copied in the Prado museum paintings by Velazquez, El Greco, Ribera, Zurbaran, Goya. From 1890 he lived in Paris in Montmartre. Friends with Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Degas, Gauguin, Utrillo, exhibited together with them. In the future, shared life between France and Spain (Segovia, Seville). Friends with Rodin, corresponded with him. Exhibited in various European countries (Austria-Hungary, Italy, Belgium, Germany) in 1909-1910 - in the U.S. and Latin America. In 1936 he took up sculpture.

He was buried in San Sebastian.
