Default At Sotheby's set a record price for jewelry with rubies

At Sotheby's auction set a record price for jewelry with rubies, reported Bloomberg. November 17 at auction in Geneva, earrings and a necklace with rubies and diamonds were sold for 5.8 million Swiss francs (5.7 million) with two buyers from Asia. The total value of two lots exceeded the estimate by more than five times.
In addition, the auction records were set at cost-carat green and rich blue diamonds. Ring with a green diamond at 2.52 carats was sold for 3.1 million francs, and the ring with a saturated blue in 3.17 carat diamond was sold for 2.5 million francs. However, Sotheby's failed to sell the blue pear-shaped diamond weighing 5.96 carats; earlier trading house thought that he may set a record price for all carats of diamonds. The current record was set in May: while in Geneva blue diamond weighing 7.03 carats was sold for 9,5 million dollars.

Total Sotheby's jewelry auction on Nov. 17 brought 37 million francs (36.5 million dollars).

So? With ruby, spinel, and not, and that natural rather than synthetic determined accurately. Quality characteristics may be on different scales to assess, but in a rather limited range. Please explain what to do with the pictures?

Colored diamonds, yes - the color can be changed artificially, but the radiation exposure is also determined by examination. You are not on the MSU geofake study? They usually do, and expertise. If you know the details - tell interesting.

No, I do not know.
I only know that colored diamonds are very rare thing in Russia they do not. More precisely there, caught in Yakutia, but they are not bright yellow, like the Count, and so little to zheltinkoy, brown ..
And I know that the Multi base years ago at the Kuznetsk bridge suddenly opened a shop an unknown company, piled high with bags of bright-yellow diamond of any weight, size and cut. A year later, the store has disappeared as it had appeared.

Incidentally, this famous pink diamond Box (his photo was almost all color magazines) is actually almost colorless, so pink. And the pictures of his photoshop to bright pink.

Seriy, No offense.
You no sign of emotion in the topic, though I think only to be disappointed.
Really expensive diamonds, those that are clean, - "flawless" ie without inclusions and absolutely colorless "River"
Yellow and black are the cheapest.
Diamonds are still classroom theme for divorce.
Believe it or not.
Optavaya price in Europe of the diamond (standard grinding, doing so and so machine), the size of a 1 carat in high purity and whiteness, is 80 - 100 euros.
However, each step toward improving the quality of purity and whiteness, increases the price of stone in geometric progression .
