In this medieval history, I can offer a story that sent me one of the participants of seminars from Saratov. And it begins with the words: we have in Africa is a Fairy Tale

As a son of a turtle in the beautiful married
  
In one country, there lived a man, and he had a daughter, a beauty-raskrasavitsa. This man belonged to the garden, and in the garden among other trees stood a tree in which she lived with a marvelous bird feathers on the wings. The feathers were red, green, white and even blue. Every evening the bird sat on the highest branch of a tree and sang:
  
         I can, I can
         Make calls money.
  
Do not count how many times people tried to catch a bird, but he did not succeed. Despairing at last, he announced that he will give his daughter to marry someone who can catch the magical bird. He received many young people, but no one bird was given a hand. Even the elephant, the leader of the beast tribe, came and tried to topple the tree, and so it could not.
  
Finally crawled son turtles and, much to the surprise of people, quickly climbed the tree and grabbed the bird. He went down with a bird on the ground and demanded a girl as his wife. This son married the daughter of a turtle man and took her with him. We are not going to say, whether born in the beautiful kids, and we will not say whether the bird has brought wealth to his father of the girl. Tale of something else - that needs Turtle dexterity that would get a wife.
