Being in town Tutaev five-seven years ago, I blurted out tour guide, that painting reminds me of the local church mural Yaroslavl churches. Joyful tour guide said that in fact the temple in Tutaev painted brigade masters of Yaroslavl province.
What am I doing? Travel to Russia, eventually you begin to notice how different the architecture of churches in different areas. White-stone church of pre-Mongol era in Vladimir - Suzdal - Yurev-Polish and Kideksha .... Yaroslavl tent ... Novgorod ... Kostroma ... Separately classicism, mass distribution in St.-Petersburg (and Rybinsk ).... Bright "vanguard" in Moscow and at the same St. Petersburg (St. Basil's Cathedral and on the blood ")... I remember how we were taken to the provinces of France. In every village one can observe another temple in the style of "flaming Gothic", which will look from an architectural point of view, less effective than the Cathedral of Notre Dame. And after all these repetitions, as an exception and as a revelation, you see a temple in the Romanesque style that was somehow not destroyed by the French in their time. And we have - the full diversity of architectural styles and holiday! And even a small temple of the Intercession on the Nerl not think the poor relation Vladimirsky temple, as Blessed does not seem small compared to xp. Christ the Savior or Isaac. |

Let's start with Notre Dame de Paris: it is not flaming Gothic style, as well as the phenomenal Chartres Cathedral, they were built before the advent of this style. But even within this style of Strasbourg Cathedral is totally different from, for example, Reims, Rouen and Amiens. Already in Paris and its environs have Romanesque churches, one example - bvzilika Saint-Germain-des-Prés. The Romanesque architecture of the south-west of France - that's a separate article. Next, we should mention the church of the French Renaissance, a great many churches Baroque and classical 17 th century, and, finally, the neo-classicism, the 19 th century. In conclusion, we can not ignore the church building of 20 th century - France is replete with its magnificent specimens. In general, it seems to me that the glorification of their national art, should not be done due to the degradation of the treasures of other countries - it is humiliating for the country and the people you want in such a way to elevate. |

I write about what I remember.
I was a tourist in different countries - and usually leads the group guide. In France in 1998, our small group was the perfect guide. Dima was very fond of France, was married to a Frenchwoman and lived there permanently. Another such ideal guide (who loves the country) I have not seen almost anywhere. It was from him I have deposited these words: "flaming Gothic. Very difficult to see everything that bypassed the attention of the travel agency a few weeks saturated travel. This is in France, it is in Russia. What I saw - and I write about, without claiming to be scientific in my opinion. |
