Default How to take a photo of painting?

I would appreciate a picture of an unknown author, written in chalk. Popal it to my mother in the 70's. Jews sold uezdzhaya in Israel. Already, perhaps, we can draw conclusions about the value of the painting. Still .... It shows the four girls of different ages and a dog. I only know that the author, a German (the Jews say). She still hangs framed on the wall. Maybe there and let them remain? How to make a photo?

The Jews sold - a great phrase.
Photograph simple. Take a camera and shoot. Best in a bright place, so you can without flash. If no such place, shooting with flash. If you see a highlight, shooting at an angle.

If you can not take pictures now perpendicular to the plane that there was no geometric distortion - not terrible, geometry, and then easily corrected in Photoshop. There you can get rid of the effect of the lens, made by the lens when photographing at close range or short zoom. The main thing - that was sharp and possibly no glare.

I'll tell you from personal experience. I photograph a simple digital camera Nikon Coolpix - a class of "Soap" as probably most readers. The only acceptable way to photograph oil or graphics under the glass - is photographed with the flash at an angle (it's at the time Constantine suggested). So it's not directly in front of the picture, but slightly to one side and the lens at an angle. No flash usually takes the sharpness and the picture is hopelessly corrupt. With one exception. In cheap Nikon is a function of warning that the frame is damaged (no sharpening). You take a shot without the flash and the camera tells you - trouble, try again. On the Canon there is no such as thing is very useful.

Yes, indeed.
One could assume that mom tea was too busy buying from "the Jews" that the Soviet government did not allow them to take, that is practically all they owned, and the education of his daughter's time she has left. What a pity ...

This is not the sharpness goes away, and the camera makes a long shutter speed (although this is sometimes unnoticed), and the time of shooting slightly trembling hands. And it gives blurry picture, which apparently can be perceived as sharp. I always try to take pictures without flash, more accurate colors. Just in time to take firmer hold the camera.

Somehow it felt sorry for you. Sorry if offended that phrase. Your education is also not at a proper level. Make assumptions such educated people would not ...
Everyone who gave advice many thanks!

Yes-ah, and again your assumptions were confirmed. Probably all efforts were aimed at teaching her to draw correct conclusions about the value

You call their professional camera miracle of technology. And the people photographed soap holders - they do not hold them back, if there is no special treatment. By the way, now go cheap camera down with optical stabilizers - that is another matter.

Probably not a right to intervene in this discussion, but it seemed to me that China was in a hurry and just because it has chosen not the most elegant language. Obviously China would like to say that the picture came to her parents from a cultured Jewish family, whose members possess a good artistic taste. And nothing more. It is unlikely that she and her parents may be responsible for the policies of the Soviet regime.
