Default Danish Canadian auction gallery with a 800%margin?

Dear Colleagues,

A couple of months ago I struggled to bruun-rasmussen.dk a few paintings by Danish artist Carl-Martin Soya Jensen, all from a single source , summaries of the auction, from the heirs of the artist ( whatever that means) . Among the pictures was , and this x - m , 45 cm by 30 cm , 1911, with an estimate of 500 euros in 2000 pushed the euro to a Canadian gallery http://www.langmann.com/ . The remaining works were sold on estimate in sredneem no more than 500-700 euros.

Sales statistics of the artist is placed in estimeyty Bruun -Rasmussen .

Gallery , who bought the painting for 1800 euros , puts the painting on sale for 18 $ 500 !

Q: It is common practice of North American dealers ? Or do they know about this work is something that others did not know ? Or it 's just very specific needs money ?

I very much want to understand the pricing mechanism in this case. Well, to understand - do not miss a masterpiece I >

Specialists in West European art of the 19th century , well, or experienced art dealers - tell me, please , huh? Thank you!

I always check my auctions for Bruun, but for some reason this picture does not remember.

This work was precisely there - at the beginning of February. It is 100%- I traded for it , though have not bought (but at the same time bought another , the same artist , from the same hand ).

Why has decided that the gallery ? Deduction . Came across this gallery in search of another artist , and they have a section of "recent arrivals" - that's the job. Where she could hang out a couple of months and how many hands to change? I think anywhere at all.

Why where?
The usual practice when purchased at an auction, and then exposed to another ..

allexx, in two words can not explain ....
Hang in the gallery at 800%not at all does not mean the desire to sell or market price on this thing.
In Europe, for example, the mass of the gallery is asking for the end of the 3 most expensive sales registered a particular artist in the market.
They ask for more than a year, although the works were bought by explicitly on record prices.
This "pricing" can be attributed to several causes and conventions.
First of all, such work is best of the best there is or has been on the market for a particular artist - a masterpiece.
Masterpieces of the market units, such work after the regular resale, for decades to withdraw from the market in private collections.
In this case, the gallery is not looking for opportunities to sell the work as quickly as possible, the work becomes part of the 'face' picture hangs in a prominent place, is a screen saver on the Internet. Many galleries do not live in the first place, from the sale of paintings. Someone provides space for the exhibition, someone with the backbone of major collectors and sells them for painting at auction, someone organized a "job" to his wife, and someone just keeps place in the center, historic district, a strategic considerations. Many nuances around the bush, do not lend themselves to any logic.
For the purposes of vysheukazanny need a set of decent work to maintain the image.
For example: http://www.berkofinepaintings.com/Fr...BJECTID=347290
Ask the 85t euro, a masterpiece, but it is for this theme, the price of the market by this artist 20t-25t Euro.

sergejnowo, I understand . In this case , according to the site and a description of yourself , the gallery is just the point of sale. Yes, and this particular work they do flagship .

I can not understand - that in this work such an outstanding (other than the form of Paris, Seine, barges and 1912 - which in itself may attract a broad audience with money ) to multiply by six the purchase price. I'm able to buy himself the job for, say, two thousand in the same in Denmark , from where comes the work , the gallery is at best multiplied by two.

I have another business, and collecting - a hobby > I'm trying to figure out if it was not worth the work outbid at auction - and draw conclusions for the future, I'm not too well versed in the art yet.
