Alexander Labas of Pavel Kuznetsov
Labas recalled Kuznetsov:
Цитата:
I'll never forget how we have worked with him in the exposition committee of the anniversary exhibition "Artists of the RSFSR during 15 years in the Russian Museum in Leningrad in 1932. When hung on the wall of his paintings, they sounded so extraordinary that we are all heartily congratulated him. I remember Grabar and Sergei Gerasimov said then: "This is a painter, let God!" From the neighborhood with many pictures of him opposite seemed to black artists and photographic, they simply could not watch. Could not save any responsible topic, or literariness, which so often oversaturated with artists craft their work persuasion, instead of living sense of life around us, they are doing this purely speculative. Pavel Kuznetsov refused, stuck a label formalist. Not accidentally Katzman, in his letter, which was printed, complains that the exhibition to the AOR anniversary MOSKh hung many pictures of the formalists in the first place, he named P. Kuznetsov.
Pavel Kuznetsov was a professor at Art Institute, where he had a monumental office, no doubt, he could give a lot in this direction. The students were very fond of him. He was a sincere, simple, friendly, attentive to people, always in high spirits. AV Lunacharsky namely Pavel Kuznetsov organized the exhibition in Paris, where he was immediately treated with great interest, and the work it had been successful.
