Literary Museum and Gallery "Vellum": Exhibition of "Book Graphics 1920-1930-ies"

State Literature Museum and Gallery "Vellum" invite to the exhibition "Book Graphics 1920-1930-ies." From March 20 to April 10 in the House Ostroukhova (Trubnikovsky Lane., 17). Opening March 19 at 19.00.
The exhibition opens one of the little-known history of graphic art of the twentieth century Russia. The focus of the curators - the legacy of two masters of book illustration, Meer Axelrod and Mendel Gorshman. Their works, hardly familiar to today's audience, uniquely resonate with optional display a series of works Euphrosyne Ermilova-Platov.
About half of the 60 items are shown first.
The basis of the exhibition lay illustrations for the works of Sholom Aleichem and Jewish folk tales, by M. Axelrod, as well as first shown sketches of authors M. Gorshman for design of the book Ihila Shraibman "Three Summers (1946).

By the same art-generation belongs Yefrosinya Fedoseevna Ermilova-Platov (1895-1974). Creativity of the artist, has experienced the impact of II Mashkova, NS Goncharova, M. Larionov, AA Exter, inherent expression, emotional acuity, sketchy manner the letter. The style of the works presented reflects her fascination with Cubism and neo-primitivism. Today, the legacy E.F.Ermilovoy-Platova included in many museum collections, including the collection of the Russian Museum and the Pushkin Museum im. Pushkin.
Landscape and genre sketches Ermilova-Platova created in the late 1920's, serve to illustrate the expressive life of undress by the USSR of that era. Demonstration of them in the walls of the Literary Museum was the first publication: first of these lists are not exhibited.
