Mikhail Shemyakin was born in Moscow on May 4, 1943 in family actresses and military. In 1957-1961 he studied at the Art School at the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I. Repin in Leningrad. In 1971 he emigrated to France, 10 years he lived and worked in Paris, where he became famous. In 1981 he moved to New York.
