The last self-portrait by Anthony van Dyck will go under the hammer
The last self-portrait by Anthony van Dyck, Flemish painter and graphic artist for a long time working in London, will be sold at Sotheby's in December 2009. This September 30 wrote The Times. Van Dyck worked on this self-portrait in London in 1641. He finished a painting for a few months before his death, which allegedly occurred as a result of psychological distress.
