78-year-old lawyer from the Principality of Liechtenstein, Herbert Batliner gave his art collection, which is the largest in Europe, the Vienna Museum "Albertina". As a permanent loan to the gallery in 2007 received 500 works of art worth 500 million euros.

Originally Albertina had the opportunity to exhibit works from the Batliner collection for ten years. After this time, if the owner and his heirs will be happy with the way the museum manages the exhibits, they will remain in the "Albertine" forever.

The first exhibition of the Batliner collection was opened in September 2007: it included works from Monet to Picasso.
