"Our compatriots are many acquired abroad, and they would largely fill the domestic market of antiques, if they had the freedom to export cultural property belonging to them, brought them into the country after the law enters into force abroad", - explained he.

Ivliev admitted that the Committee has discussed these issues with collectors, art critics, and creators of the law "came to the conclusion that such regulation would allow the freer flow of antiquities."

"We must create a freedom that does not interfere with the importation of cultural property" - he added.

However, he said, all restrictions related to cultural values, which are at the moment, saved.

It will not be subject to the export of especially valuable objects of cultural heritage, as well as those that are permanently stored in the state and municipal museums, archives, libraries and other public repositories of cultural values of Russia.
