Help identify with dating and evaluation.
Interesting Orthodox icon , three expert opinions diverged. No formal examination , no history . Preliminary information experts - probably mid XIX century , Ukraine or Poland , tempera on canvas, 90x70 cm size , are damaged ( talus ) . Apparently, part of the King's Gate . Any questions regarding compliance with the Orthodox canons . The canvas is divided into two story lines , but the division , although the same period , runs right through the figures depicted . In need of restoration . Estimates regarding the anticipated cost of the experts are very approximate .
Restorers offer duplication canvas , cleaning and conservation.
Should I buy and restore it?
How much will it cost canvas after such restoration ( without restoring the paint layer ) ?
