He was a gifted teacher, a connoisseur of photography, photo critics.
His famous book "Photography as a" has long been a best-seller, the photographers are reading it from cover to cover.

Alexander Lapin was born May 17, 1945. in Moscow. He worked as a photographer for various organizations. From 1979 to 1983. taught by correspondence at the People's University of Art (ZNUI).

From 1992 to 1997. - Member of the State Prize in Fine Art at the Russian president, an expert in photography.

As a photographer A.Lapin participated in many exhibitions in Russia, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, France, Switzerland, America and England. To his credit - five solo exhibitions in various countries. His works are in collections in the Pushkin Fine Arts Museum, Gallery, The Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, as well as in private collections.

Lapin taught in the journalism department of Moscow State University, and also taught a master class in photojournalism IZHLT our institute (Institute of Journalism and creative writing).
