Today, the CHA opened the III International Biennial of Young Art. Moscow for the third time this area becomes biennial. The competition, held from September to December 2011, received 2700 applications submitted by artists under the age of 35 years from 77 countries worldwide. Biennial program includes basic and strategic projects, special exhibitions and parallel programs, as well as scientific and educational events.
The chief curator of the Biennale - Katrin Becker, a German art historian and head of the Video Forum of New Berlin Art Association (nbk - Neuer Berliner Kunstverein). Central House of Artists is hosting a major project Biennale, titled "Under the sun of tinsel." This name reflects the core problem of the exhibition - indistinguishability of "genuine" and "false", loss of personal identity in the absence of a common direction of development. In the short-list of the main project included 81 work 80 authors - some artists and art groups (a total of 98 artists) from 32 countries. Among them, 11 artists from Russia, 7 from Germany, Austria 6 of 6 from the United States, 4 from Pakistan, four from South Africa, three from Britain, three from Israel, three from Iran, as well as artists from Argentina, Belarus, Vietnam, Georgia Indonesia, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Swaziland, Slovakia, Thailand, Turkey, Finland, France, Czech Republic, Chile, Switzerland and Sweden.
