Confrontation between the two pavilions, Paris, 1937.
At the Paris Exposition of 1937 in front of the pavilion of the USSR pavilion was Nazi Germany. After the builders have done to build our pavilion - the architects built a German and a higher top hoisted the eagle with a swastika. But when workers started to collect our sculptural composition "Worker and Collective Farm Girl" Germans knew what would be the total height of the pavilion in the USSR. In the hastily built a mode of its even higher. The aim was one - superiority in height. And entered the history of this confrontation between the two pavilions.
