Painting by Paul Gauguin "Still Life and l'Esperans" written in memory of Vincent Van Gogh, valued at 10 million pounds sterling (15,4 million dollars), wrote on January 8 The Daily Telegraph. This canvas, which are in private collections and exhibited in 1989, Gauguin wrote in 1901 in Tahiti.

According to her, Van Gogh was not the only source of inspiration for Gauguin, also in the picture you can find traces of the influence of Edgar Degas.
