The game of opposites
White exhibition with black cloths If you are going once again into an art gallery Reutov Museum and Exhibition Center, I unwittingly tuned to the fact that the need to re-evaluate not only the exhibition as a whole, but separate components: genre, color, and more. But this time was worth the wait for something special: a draft "White" presented by the head of the Youth Club painters Andrei Kolosov, and he knows how to surprise the audience every time. And this time do not want to talk about how good or bad a show. The fact that the draft is too sharply distinguished from all others, which appeared in the gallery recently. Is it good or bad, had to identify each for themselves. Imagine: you go to the gym and see the black cloth. At first glance, absolutely black, no spots, gaps, and other details. Part of the audience who came to the opening, and could not distinguish between a monochrome that was trying to convey the artist. But others stayed for a long time. Why? Because here they saw not the usual, understandable to most still lifes or landscapes. No, here - that painting over which to think, looking at every detail, whether it is too thin or thick layer of paint, some evolved spot. Not for nothing Andrew said that there must be freed imagination. The viewer had to get around the whole gallery, and only at the end of his waiting list of titles of works. You can compare their ideas with the fact that the author was trying to convey. Only one work - "Movement" - was accomplished by using different colors, but ... from the cans of paint. It symbolized any path that passes people. With its values, turns, bright and pale spots. And she obeyed the general criterion: integrity. Take away one episode of the way - and the rest may have to turn the other way. One thought it too complicated, others have not been able to get rid of a critical eye and connect the imagination. They probably did not like the project. But I want to say that not for nothing here we have used two colors: black and white. This is an exhibition of contrasts: everything is simple and complicated at the same time. This is a puzzle that everyone must solve for himself, without prompting. This exhibition of logic, where the viewer goes from general to specific and vice versa. And the exhibition of optics, which used an optical illusion, because sometimes it seems that the image is moving. And at the same time, the exposure could not be better shows how you can combine gallery space, so that even the angle of incidence of light played a role. It should not be considered something like the part to be seen together. And then it becomes clear that even a single color on all the canvases not prevent us from seeing what the artist depicted. Of course, not everyone could understand the project Andrei Kolosov. But art is rarely clear to everyone, because even in watercolor landscapes someone hmuryascheesya make out the sky, and someone will seem only a gray cloud scruffy spot. The project "White" allows you to see, perhaps, one of the most hidden features of painting - the ability to see the artist's intention, even when it is executed in one color. We must not just be talented, but also a really brave man to create an exhibition, knowing that the audience is not accustomed to this art and can appreciate sharply negative. This trait is typical of those who want to open up to new people, introduce them to unfamiliar and to help understand this better, to give an opportunity not to follow the consensus, and make his own. And it is also an important step to understanding the art viewer. Irina White. Personal project artist Andrei Kolosov. The exhibition included just those items that immerse the viewer in a kind of psychedelic state, where fantasy and imagination, freed from the shackles of the material, take away the horizon is reasonable.
