NEW YORK, Oct. 14 - Reuters, Larissa Saenko. Trading house Sotheby's announced on Wednesday that the autumn season of Russian auction will begin at New York on 4 November, echoing a series of auctions on art modernism and modernity.

"The auction presents selected works of many great personalities of the Russian art of XX century, including Alexei Kravchenko, Alexander Yakovlev, Nicholas Roerich," - said Sotheby's.

Top-lot Russian trade would work by Alexei Kravchenko, "Indian Tale," which along with his painting "The Kiss" is most prominent in the work of Russian artist.

"The Indian tale" put forward Kravchenko (life years 1889-1940) in a series of outstanding romantic and dramatic artists and colorists of his generation. It was the result of his travels in India and Sri Lanka in 1913 at the invitation of the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts.
