In a small estate on the border of the English county of Dorset and Wiltshire has been discovered unknown fresco Lucian Freud, one of the most significant artists soveremennosti, writes the magazine ARTnews.
For several decades, the image was hidden under the white paint. Now, the author writes the magazine, it may be that the value found Freud's work is comparable to the value of the house Coombe Priory (Coombe Priory).

The obtained image - one of only two murals the artist. The second is Chatsuorte (Chatsworth), the estate of the Dukes of Devonshire, in the bathroom of one of the bedrooms. Both famous frescoes depicted flowering cyclamen. We know that Freud wrote in his youth murals in several nightclubs, but they have not reached us.

Jobs at Coombe Priory was founded after the 1950's Freud and his second wife, Caroline Blackwood (Caroline Blackwood) bought the estate. Then the marriage fell apart and the house was sold. Preserved a photograph of the artist captured near the mural.
