Art Museum of Malraux in Le Havre

It has long wished to share in the forum pictures and impressions from the Museum of Andre Malraux (Le Musée des beaux-arts André Malraux), which is in an excellent location in Normandy, France at Le Havre.
I was there 2 years ago. This is a very small town on the Channel coast of the strait, calm and quiet (compared to the tumultuous Paris).

Malraux Museum of Art was opened in 1961. It is situated on a promontory, which separates the Seine estuary of La Manche. The museum was named in honor of the Minister of Culture of France - Andre Malraux, a native of Paris.

Malraux's father was a banker, but the son chose a different path. After graduating from the Lycée Condorcet, and the National School of Oriental Languages, Malraux went to Indochina. Later in China, carried away by the concept of communism. The Spanish Civil War has radically changed his political views. Malraux wrote several books: "The temptation of the West", "The Conquerors", "The destiny of man." During World War II, escaped from German captivity and became the hero of the French Resistance. After he entered the philosophy of art and has written several acclaimed novels. Andre Malraux developed the concept of an imaginary museum or "museum without walls." It is based on the ideas of Walter Benjamin. In 1958, Malraux was appointed minister of culture. His merit was the campaign for the restoration of old Parisian buildings (including the Louvre). French writer and scholar of culture and art lived until 1976. The museum Malraux is the second largest in the country Impressionist collection (more than 200 works). Here the paintings by French artists XIX-XX centuries: Monet, Pissarro, Renoir, Sisley, Degas, Braque, Matisse, Delacroix, and Budena born in Le Havre Raoul Dufy. The museum has a legacy of French graphic artist Albert Marquet, landscapes which were distinguished by exquisite expressiveness and simplicity.

The museum had few visitors (perhaps even for the better).
Impressions are great, as I have said, is a feast for the eyes.
