According to the newspaper, Vekselberg filed a lawsuit against Christie's in London's High Court, claiming that the painting Boris Kustodiev "Odalisque", bought in 2005 for 2,5 million dollars, was a forgery.
Company Aurora Fine Arts Investment (AFAI), owned by Vekselberg, requires the auction house to return the money and pay compensation to the billionaire. According to the company, the picture painted by an unknown artist to have worked under Kustodiev.
AFAI alleges that in 2006 asked Christie's to cancel the transaction, but the auction house said that he had to conduct their own investigation into the incident. In the end, Vekselberg's company sent the painting to the auction house in 2009, but no response from Christie's has not yet been received.
Viktor Vekselberg is one of the richest people in Russia, according to magazine Forbes. Condition Vekselberg was rated magazine in 2010, 6.4 billion dollars.
