His fate is similar to the fate of many talented Jewish boys born at the turn of centuries in the villages of the Pale of the Russian Empire. He - a student of Alexandra Exter, who acquainted Aronson with Meyerhold and Tairov, under the influence of which formed beliefs Aronson as a theater artist. On it were written books and monographs. His works are kept in the archives of the National Library in New York, where he repeatedly arranged exhibition. But in Israel, his theatrical works have been exhibited for the first time: in the Tel Aviv gallery "Minotaur" from April 8 to display costumes, scenery and models for the performance of Yiddish theater in New York, Aronson made during the period from 1923 to 1931.


Exhibition Aronson is interesting not only a theater artist and stage designer, but also historians and admirers of Russian avant-garde, his Jewish niche, as well as those who want to learn more about the activities of Crop-League (one of the leading figures of which was Aronson), socio-political organization which claimed 20 of the last century on the role of leader of the Jewish national culture. Crop-League was founded in late 1917 in Kiev, the Jewish socialist parties and similar figures of Jewish culture in Yiddish and became the most significant independent organization of Jewish culture and education.

Publishing Crop-League and the work of artists who worked with her art section, played a significant role in the development of book graphics. In 1920-ies. Aronson founded the Museum of Jewish Art in Kiev, and promoted "Jewish style, combining the principles of abstract painting with elements of folk art." Boris Aronson himself after Kiev, Moscow, Warsaw and Berlin was in New York, the initial period of creativity which is devoted to exhibition in gallery "The Minotaur". But in 1932, Aronson switched to work with the theaters on Broadway, making his debut along with another Russian emigre composer Vernon Duke, musical «Walk a Little Faster». However, the Jewish theme Aronson returned and later - for example, when working on the scenography of the famous musical "Fiddler on the Roof" in 1964.
Career Aronson scnography lasted on Broadway for more than 40 years. It is six times given Tony Award for best artist of the scene. The works, which Aronson was able to convey the principles of Crop-League - combining traditional and liberal "Jewish style", formed by him in the journal Crop-League.

Exhibitions on the activities of the Art section Crop-League were prepared Yaron Ławica - curator, art dealer and gallery owner of "The Minotaur" and the historian Hillel Kazovskim.
