In Moscow, 2 May 74-th year, died theater and movie actor, Alexander Lazarev, Sr., ITAR-TASS.

Alexander Lazarev, died at his dacha. Cause of death not yet known. It is assumed that the actor's funeral will be held on May 5.

Until recently, Lazarev worked at the Mayakovsky Theater, where he was in 1959, immediately after the end of the Moscow Art Theatre School. In the theater, the actor has played in more than 50 productions. Among his roles were Don Quixote, "first domestic musical" Man of La Mancha, "directed by Andrei Goncharov, Carlos Blanco" Venseremos! .. " and many others. Over the last role he was in 1977, was awarded the USSR State Prize.

The debut of the actor in the movie took place in 1961. Then the screens went USSR tape "Free Wind" in which young Lazarev played the role of Janko. Later had roles in such films as "Call Fire for Ourselves", "Demidov" (in this tape Lazarev played Peter), "Once again about love" and others. In 2008 he was awarded the Order of Merit of the third degree.

Lazarev was married to actress Svetlana Nemolyaeva. Their son, Alexander Lazarev, Jr., also a famous actor and theater.
