Default Vladimir Mikita, Ukraine

Vladimir Mikita - one of the most outstanding masters of the older (already outgoing, alas) generation of Ukrainian artists. Born in 1931, Student A. Erdelyi, I. Bocsa (NH USSR), F. Manaylo (NH USSR). Lives and works in Uzhgorod. It is called the Carpathian Roerich. The artist-philosopher, deeply religious man, prayed before the picture writing, their work is strictly not sell. He wants to leave behind a memorial museum.
Mikita - the most titled of living artists zakarpattsev: People's Artist of Ukraine, winner of the Regional Prize. A. Erdelyi and I. Bocsa, laureate of State Prize of Ukraine. TG Shevchenko, member of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine, Commander of the Order of Yaroslav the Wise. He - the third in the Transcarpathian academic art in history (the first two - born in Transcarpathia I. Grabar, A. Bokotey (Rector of the Lviv Academy of Arts). His work is devoted to more than 200 publications.
Generally, when an artist does not let his work on the commercial market, it is difficult to judge its investment potential. But I personally have here is exactly the case when there is still the behavior of our current market. When I started to collect paintings from zakarpattsev on it "jammed" - searching for and bought almost everything on it offered. Sobral more than 20 works, half - someone's former presents with inscriptions of the author.
Deign. A Ukrainian painting does not happen.
PS: with all this in the Top-100 of Ukrainian artists posted on this forum, it is not. Curiosity, of course :-)

It would be interesting to know, Ukrainian Authentics may appeal to non-Ukrainians at least theoretically? Or does this painting is doomed to regional /national restrictions?
Surely there must be examples Pirosmani, Saryan and others artists who have crossed national barriers.

Agree. In principle, before almost any artist was originally a national. Cosmopolitanism germinate in the hearts later, as the corruption :-) I'm joking.

The question of prices. Received information that a large Carpathian landscape (88h122) selling out "by hand" to the final buyer for 15 thousand dollars. I'm happy for the artist (though the money went not to him, alas). Anyway pleased that the work is estimated more or less adequately the level of the wizard.
But, by the way, the artist himself:

Something there. Actually Transcarpathian school of painting rather strange. Was Bokshay, the most worthy representative of her !!!!!!

All other Kasha, Sapatyuk and other followers of this school are similar in their works as twin brothers.

Yes, actually it is commendable that you collect Zakarpattya school of painting, and pleased that she demanded outside of Ukraine. Here recall that four years ago Bocsa now can be bought for $ 500. And now this same work has already 25000 U.S. money is, and note that almost impossible to find.
Although, to be honest, I Zakarpatskaya school did not really like (just know the mentality of the local art people, probably in connection therewith)
