Strong was a woman ...
Perhaps the best explanation of "the phenomenon of Frida" Diego Rivera gave himself: "For the first time in the history of art woman expressed with absolute frankness, both naked, and we can say with quiet ferocity the general and particular, which is inherent to the woman."

The real life of Frida no less dramatic than a movie about it ...

Frida Kahlo was born in Mexico City in 1907godu. It is the third daughter Gulermo and Matilda Kahlo. Father a photographer, by origin - a Jew, a native of Germany. Mother - a Spaniard, born in America. In six years, Frida ill polio, and then remained limp. "Frida - a wooden leg" - brutally teased her peers. And it in spite of all swam and played soccer with the boys and even boxing. At the foot pulled a 3-4 stocking to look as healthy. Physical defect helped to hide pants, and after marriage - the long traditional dresses, which are so far in the state Oahakayu.
Life of Frida changed dramatically rainy evening Sept. 17, 1925, when the car in which rode Frida with school friend, collided with a tram. The blow was so strong that the guy kicked out of the car. But he got off easy - only a concussion, can not be said about Freda. Broken iron rod current collector trolley stuck in the stomach and left in the groin, smashing the hip bone. In three places had been damaged spine, two broken hips. His right leg, withered polio, was broken in eleven locations. Thirty-two times Frida traveled on the operating table. This is a unique world record. In addition, it constantly obsessed about the possible manifestation of hereditary diseases: the father suffered from epilepsy.
Doctors could not vouch for her life. Frida Kahlo was then 18 years.
Began agonizing months motionless inactivity. It was at this time, she asked her father's brush and paints. For Frida made a special stretcher, you can write lying down. Under the canopy of the bed a large mirror attached to Frida could see myself. She began with self-portraits. "I write for myself because I spend a lot of time alone, and because it is a theme that you know best."
In 1922, against everything and everybody, Frida Kahlo entered the most prestigious Institute of Mexico (national preparatory school).
Their first meeting occurred when Frieda, still a teenager, she saw Diego Rivera to paint the walls of the Higher Preparatory School. He hit her childish imagination, she tracked him, teased the "old Fastow, tried to attract attention, and once, as if anticipating their common future, said a school friend:" I will certainly marry this macho and face from his son. "

While Diego was the "first guy" of the Mexican painters of the time, and only Alfaro Siqueiros could compete with him. He was a sincere Communist, a fighter with the bourgeoisie, popular among the common folk speaker. In the former Soviet Union, Rivera was especially popular in the 60 years, but his wife's name always secretly held back. Of course, because Lev Davidovich Trotsky, his friendship with Diego who have forgiven, and Freda for some reason - no.
Diego was huge and fat. Growing tufts of hair, protruding from the excitation or vice versa, covered his eyes swollen eyelids. Sam Rivera himself liked to depict as bellied frog with someone heart in his hand. Its always adored women, Diego reciprocated, but once admitted: "The more I love women, the more I want to make them suffer."
Their family life is seething passions. They could not always be together, but never - apart. They attributed the relationship, according to one of his friends, "a passionate, obsessive and sometimes painful." In 1934, Diego Rivera, Frida has changed with her younger sister, Christine, posing him. After that discovery, realizing that offends his wife, but to sever relations with it would not. Beat for Frida was cruel. Proud, she did not want the pain to share with anyone - just threw it on the canvas. The result was a painting, perhaps the most tragic in her work: a nude female body excised bloody wounds. Near the knife in his hand, with an indifferent man who inflicted these wounds.
Diego Frida changed life, from which she suffered terribly. Frida help and support throughout Diego, accompanied him on trips and exhibitions. Frida always wanted a child, but because of injuries received in his youth it every time miscarriage.
Note that at any self-portrait Frida is not smiles: a serious, even sorrowful face, thick eyebrows knit, slightly prominent black mustache over his lips tightly compressed sensual. The idea of her paintings is encoded in the details, background, the figures that appear next to Frida. Symbols of the artist, say critics, is based on national traditions and is closely related to Indian mythology of pre-Hispanic period. Frida Kahlo brilliantly knew the history of his homeland. Many genuine monuments of ancient culture that Diego and Frida collected all his life, is now in the garden of the "blue house".
You can have different attitudes to creativity itself Frida, but it must be admitted that in her work revealed the cruelty and a certain percentage of shamelessness peculiar to this outstanding woman. On a shelf in her office surrounded by books on anatomy, physiology and psychology (she seriously studied medicine, looked into the theory of Freud, even became the first all influenced by psychoanalysis in Mexico) was the subject, as if brought back out of the Museum. As a reminder of the unborn child was standing by the vessel with zaspirtovannym human embryo.
Shortly before the death of her amputated right leg, her pain turned into a torture, but she found the strength to open the latest exhibition in the spring of 1953. Shortly before the appointed time, gathered to hear the sirens. This is an ambulance, accompanied by an escort of motorcyclists, from the hospital after the operation came culprit celebration. Its made on a stretcher and placed on a bed in the center of the room. Frida joked, sang their favorite sentimental songs to the accompaniment of the orchestra "Mariachi", smoking and drinking, hoping that alcohol will help relieve the pain. That unforgettable performance shook photographers, reporters and fans. Just like the last, posthumous, 13 July 1954, when her body wrapped in the flag Mexican Communist Party, in the hall crematorium came to say goodbye crowd of fans.
Frida Kahlo died of pneumonia a week after celebrating its 47 anniversary, on Tuesday 13 July 1954. The next day, relatives have gathered all of her favorite jewelry: antique, even pre-Columbian times, the necklace, the cheap simple little things of seashells, which she liked - and put it all in a gray coffin was set in "Belyas Artes - Palace of Fine Arts.
