Default David Hockney (b. 9.07.1937)

Interest received more - for some reason it seems to me that Russia is not very well known art Englishman David Hockney, one of the most significant artists of the second half of the 20 th century. So I decided to give more pictures than usual.

Creativity Hockney is very autobiographical, it is largely based on his personal experience - his travels, his love affairs (Hockney has openly declared his homosexuality in the early 60's.).

A series of pools, California illustrates a world where visual comfort existence paradoxically evokes a feeling of anxiety.

In 1964 he had his first solo exhibition in New York, very well received criticism and having commercial success - all the exhibited works were sold!

Hockney painted many portraits, which he tried to grasp the complex relationships between the characters.

I have deliberately restricted this plot showing Hockney painting, but neobhodimo say that since 1976, the artist willingly uses the technique of photomontage, based on the use of many photographs taken on Polaroid - he did have something like mozaikm: Hockney attracted to the idea of seeing the world as if from window. In addition, he deals with a lot of graphics, including the lottery - lithographs, etchings. He worked as a theater artist, in particular, designed the opera for the festival in Glayndberne and for the Metropolitan Opera in New York. Since the 1980's. Hockney began researching new technology - photocopying, faxing - it attracted, in particular, that risugki sent them to friends via fax, lack of commercial value - so, these technologies make it possible to make art accessible to everyone.

In the work of Hockney, in my opinion, one can trace a variety of influences - have already spoken of Paul - from the French impressionist and post-impressionism (Bonnard!) To American realism (Hopper) and naive art of Haiti, but a well-digested and meaningful. Based on these influences he managed to form a rich and quirky, easily recognized style. I was attracted by the ingenuity and sincerity of the artist of great culture, that he would never rest on our laurels and do not hesitate to change your style.

And, in conclusion, quote:
"If the love of beauty, you are ready to cheat and deceive, you know, you - the artist!"

In general, see the pictures.

Among the pearls of the meeting - painting by David Hockney's "A housewife from Beverly Hills", created in 1966. Then Hockney worked on a series of California Dreaming. He asked Freeman to allow him to write a swimming pool in her yard, but in the end instead of the pool has written herself. Estimate the picture is 6.10 million dollars. Auction house experts are confident that the painting will be sold well. According to Laura Paulson (Laura Paulson), director of the International Department of Post-War and Contemporary Art Christie's, the price of Hockney's very stable, and work is rare - most of the canvases, painted in 1960, are in museums. The celebrated British artist David Hockney (David Hockney) recently admitted that his favorite "canvas" - a touch ekranchik communicator iPhone. 71-year-old artist has acquired unit four months ago, and now will not part with him. He draws his finger flowers and immediately sends its "mini-masterpieces" friends. In addition, Hockney writes on small screen shows landscapes and lectures on the history of art. He also enjoys the programs with which you can "play" on the keyboard and accordion. (c)
