March 5, the project "Ukrainian Odyssey" in Kiev opened an exhibition of works of the famous Ukrainian artist and expressionist poet Vasil Hmelyuka. The exhibition marks the opening of the new gallery antique house "Ducat" Street. Grushevskogo 4.
Project "Ukrainian Odyssey, including a series of exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad, devoted to the creative heritage of Ukrainian art of emigration, which has played an important role in the development of not only national but also of world art.
The Ukrainian-born Vladimir Hmelyuk educated in Cracow, Prague, Paris (who later became his second homeland). Hmelyuka creations have been in the 20th years. interest in such well-known collectors as S. Shchukin and A. Volare, and in the 40's world-famous gallery of Durand-Ruel "established business contacts with him: as it turned out - for many decades. Even in the difficult times of war the French government buys fabric Ukrainian Parisian.
However talent Hmelyuka not limited to painting and graphics. This unique artist known in the history of literature as the first Ukrainian Dadaist and Futurist.
Today creativity V. Hmelyuka experiencing a new wave of recognition. His canvases are stored in museums and private collections in Paris, Stockholm, New York, Lucerne, Philadelphia, Munich, Toronto.
