"The Unbearable creative freedom." Exhibition in DC ENEA. (84 Hall)
September 30 - October 21, 2010
Opening September 30 at 17.00
September 30, 1975 at the House of Culture ENEA held a legendary show, which was attended by 145 artists, nonconformists who are not able to show their work in other places. Among them - Anatoly Zverev, Anatoly Zhigalov Joseph Kiblitsky William Bruï, Natalia Konysheva, Eugene Kropiwnicki, Rostislav Lebedev, Mikhail Odnoralov, Oscar Rabin, Mikhail Roginsky, Boris Turetsky, a group of "Nest", a group of "Hair" and other artists. Many of them became well-known masters of modern art.
Despite the three-hour queues, expensive tickets, sorokagradusnoe heating, closed windows, no toilets, the exhibition visited by tens of thousands of spectators. It was a real triumph of the "other art".

Possible and whether such a show today, when modern art is demonstrated in many venues in Moscow, and the artists have no problem with the show works? After all, there are many institutions who wish to take in his arms a young artist, and the system of the art market and show business debugged and stable.
The answer is simple: It is possible and necessary because the current situation, which is often compared to "an era of stagnation" of the 1970's, the artist must also be "other."

In autumn 1975, I returned to Moscow after his Tashkent international symposium on ceramics. Of course, went to see Sergei in Warm Stan. Sergei told me a stunning news. Two days later, at ENEA, in the House of Culture opens an exhibition of 150 of the Moscow artists, nonconformists.
We immediately went to the scene. The building was cordoned off by police, and we are not allowed, but we climbed out the window, open to us by the conditional knock fellow artists, who mounted the exhibition.
