I apologize. I am using an online translator. I have this panel. The lettering on top Iиc and Xc are not part of the original painting. They were added sometime later. In a restoration would you remove them? There are remnants of nails made of silver still embedded in the board, would you remove them? I need to stablize the painting of Christ but after that I am not sure about how far to take a restoration. Would the experts here suggest a complete restoration or something different? Please know there was never any intention to mislead anyone. In an exercise of discovery, this is not an icon. It is a late 18th early 19th Century Neoclassical painting. It is expertly painted. Any adornment was added after completion and then removed long ago. No matter the expert, I have learned scientific examination is necessary for true professional examination. The human eye sees 380-750nm in spectrum. Science sees (>1mm-10 to the -12 power m). So many answers to construction and authorship exist outside our visual range. Whether in America or Russia or anywhere is a professional experts opinion truly professional without science to validate it?
