Default Exhibition of Van Gogh in the Albertine

Have not seen before pandemonium at the Van Gogh exhibition in Vienna. About an hour hundreds of people in the wind and snow and rain are in the queue at the entrance to the Albertina. The line continues to the cash registers and inside the museum. And because the exhibition is now in its third month from September 5!

No reproductions in the catalog, no photo, alas, do not pass and a small part of the beauty of works. The exhibition ends on December 8.

Personally for me, Van Gogh has always been number 1 on its power and energy impacts, and, practically each of his paintings, drawings, sketches.
What a pity that did not get to see an exhibition with my own eyes! Thank you again, fross.

Drawings, sketches, watercolors, gouaches - all done so masterfully. Even when the number of such works in oil, no tyaryayutsya graphic work, in contrast to me they seem to be deeper, sharper. You in comfort - a little more graphic works from the exhibition.

Strongly suspect that it was impossible to remove. But as the entire staff was thrown on the management of the queues, the comments to me no one did, but at the end of a harsh Austrian lady visitor angrily tapped on my shoulder and said something (and I do not know German), which was very similar to the prohibition of photography.
Impression of the exhibition on the order of better than after the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. Absolute genius. And immediately start to think about how it happened that the work did not buy, and the recognition came too late.

fross, so I think so too about contemporary art, maybe we got it wrong?? although all still unlikely ... and Van Gogh did not understand, because before that there were many, many centuries of classical art, and that's not understood ...

Yet while some certainly changes everything, and our perception of contemporary art can not be the ultimate truth. Such exhibitions are very helpful not to forget about it.
