По умолчанию Who is the author of a portrait?

Hello.
Tell me please, who is the author of the portrait (in attachment)?
This should be a fairly well-known artist ...
Thank you.

Good portrait.
"Rembrandt" lighting model.
Please inform the size and place more quality photos, including the reverse side (the latter is important for the dating).

And it seems to me that this is now someone has depicted himself as, a modern stylized Rembrandt. Too masterful "light spotted", just like in the studio.
Wow, you were right! (That's what professionalism.) I like a simple amateur, of course, too, noticed a resemblance to Rembrandt, but it never occurred that it might be a modern pastiche. This self-portrait, the author of - David Leffel, taken here. Sorry if unwittingly introduced someone into thinking the file I saved a week ago and forgot the source (assuming that it was someone from the old masters). And today, completely mystified, prosherstil the same history on your computer, and found ...

I would like to ask, dear experts, so you guessed that this is a self-portrait? On what grounds, if not secret, it can be so quick to define? .. Or is it pure intuition?

There is, of course, it was difficult to understand at such a small photo.

Of course, such a glamorous osveschalova in the 19 th century did.

And done by those of the 19 century that imitated Rembrandt.

Here's an interesting question. It is clear that it is hardly possible to formulate exactly what distinguishes the self-portrait from the portrait (in a typical or average case). But it seems to me that any symptoms can probably try to indicate. But when he tried - and immediately stopped. Well, not serious to speak about intimacy or facial expression, however, indeed, in most cases, immediately recognizable self-portrait

In the self-portrait is always a kind of rashristannost (emancipation) in the interpretation of the image. What we have here and see.
Hmm, some understand: more arbitrary, anarchic image transfer; less rigor. Perhaps you are right ...

Here's another self-portraits of the artist (the second so obviously "a Rembrandt"):

Dear fabosch, and yet at the same time you can ask? If it is no secret that over the izobrazheie on your avatar? Something reminded Toulouse Lautrec, but this is clearly not it. Rudakov not it? .. (Author, I mean ) Thanks.

Dear mikhael, a fragment of a picture, "Zina and Bird Modern St. Petersburg artist Vladimir Yashka (" grandfather "Mitkov, as it is in St. Petersburg to call it) from my collection. Here is his work entirely.
This is one of my favorite artists from St. Petersburg.
Be sure to tell him your association. I think it is a delight, as both these characters - it was his playing field. It is generally a very "nasmotrenny" artist in the sense of knowledge of art history. For me, this work - a paraphrase of the famous "Olympia."
