Biography
Creative education in the Warsaw School of Fine Arts (marked by 14 international awards for painting and graphics) and the Academy of Fine Arts (class VI Skochilyasa and L. Vychulkovskogo) since 1931 member of the society Blvd ukr. figures "Spock".

While in Europe, often visiting museums of Berlin, Dresden and Paris.

In 1939 he returned to Warsaw in Pochaev (Ukraine), worked as a teacher in Pochaev high school, he continued to paint. After the war, from 1945 worked as an artist in the Ternopil Drama Theater named after T. Shevchenko. Sketches of scenes and scenery of the theater of that time are now in the Ternopil Oblast State Archive, thanks sluchanoy discovery many years later.

Since 1946 the artist lived in Lviv (Ukraine).

Shatkivsky - teacher since 1948 at the Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts (now the Academy of Fine Arts), and since 1950 teacher Ukrainian Polygraphic Institute. Fedorov in Lvov (now - Academy of print).

Represented own works since 1932 in Warsaw, Lvov, Lutsk, Rivne and other cities.

In the late 1950's in the creative artist's manner changed significantly. Along with the main theme - lyrical landscapes, still lifes, most of the flowers - the author applied to the image of portraits of the classics of Ukrainian culture, historical figures, folk customs.

Together with its own name Shatkivsky them to use and Laughter-Shatkivsky associated with long-time native laugh - the owners of land near Pochaev.

Died Oleksa Shatkivsky in Lviv in 1979.
