Default Empress Maria Feodorovna as an artist

Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Karelia - the only in Russia, which has in its collection of works of the Empress Maria Feodorovna.
On the second floor of the museum opened an unusual exhibition of three unique paintings with the monogram MF. Their author - Russian empress, wife of Tsar Alexander III, Maria Feodorovna Romanova, nee Maria Sophia Frederica Dagmar. The mother of last Russian Tsar Nicholas II.
born November 26, 1847 in Copenhagen. Lived on earth 81 years old, of them 52 - in Russia. Princes was 16 years, the Empress - 11 years, spent 28 years happily married, during which time the family were born six children: Nicholas, Alexander, George, Xenia, Michael, Olga.
The first lessons in painting she received from her mother - Danish Queen Louise, in Russia, was trained by the artist Alexei Bogolyubov, who wrote: "It captured the flavor and taste for colors, matrimony which felt very good."
At the exhibition, three unique works written by hand Maria Feodorovna: two watercolor paintings of still life and portrait. Best of the still life dated 1869 year and a composition reminiscent of the "small Dutch. But nature - probably Russian, apparently - is "Easter still life. Watercolor "miser" - presumably a copy of some original paintings. According to the outstanding master of landscape painting by Alexei Bogolyubov, a former teacher of Maria Feodorovna and Alexander III, «she captured the flavor and taste for colors, matrimony who understood very well."
This small exhibition presents the Russian Empress Maria Feodorovna Romanov as a man, inspired by the art, having a talent for painting.
