Maria Taglioni died at age 80 in Marseille. On her tombstone inscribed the following words : "Earth , do not push it too hard , because it is so easy for you to set foot ."
Jean Auguste Barr ( September 25, 1811 - February 5, 1896 ) was a French sculptor and medalist . Born in Paris , he studied with his father. He graduated with honors from the National School of Fine Arts in Paris . Participated in the exhibition of the French Salon from 1831 to 1886 , first as a medalist . Was one of the first sculptors who created bronze statues of famous contemporaries, like Napoleon III, Queen Victoria , dancer Marie Taglioni . His bronze works are in the collections of the Louvre and the Hermitage.
One of the stone sculptures Barra - a bust for the grave of his friend Alfred de Musset - is at the Pere Lachaise cemetery .
