The art of the here and now

Slogan Biennale for Young Art "Stop!" Who goes there? " - A kind of appeal for young artists to stop and think: Where's contemporary art and the role they play in it? This - the exhibition "Do Not Disturb", which opened in Moscow gallery "Nauka 254.

On the plan of the exhibition curator Catherine Krupennikova says this: "People are now very little time to figure out who you are and what you came into this world. Needed peace and quiet to reflect on this." Implement conceived helped artists of the two capitals: MAKE (Anton Polish), Eugene Byalo, Anastasia Zaborovskaya, Olga Majorova, Ustinov Yakovleva, Natalia Smolin and Mary-Anne Abovyan.

The exhibition presents two designs of the artist: meditating, sitting in the center of the sphere, and the tower of power lines. They are all united under the title "Eight points of view."

Each of the artists in many ways sees space for meditation and reflection and at the same time trying to model the relationship of "internal" and "outside", using different techniques - from graphics to video art. Thus, the work Ustin Yakovleva "White Cube" is a room where you can enter and leave their mark. How to tell the artist, white symbolizes the purity of natural persons, but over time there are many events - and they leave their mark.

Considering the "Thirst" Anastasia Zaborowski, wonder: how could the fragile girl to think more so to make such a "formidable" design - the metal head of a Roman soldier? According to the author, "even the good man can destroy and transform into a terrible monster thirst for possession of something. Contemplation, by contrast, can raise.

The huge structure of the material in black - a "great object" Olga Majorova. What is the meaning of this work, as, indeed, and many other exhibits, it is not clear. Olga is my answer: "Modern art - it is here and now!" It gives perspective. A large object "embodies the idea of something sought after, large and already popular

The "Do Not Disturb" unites artists who explore the relationship between the mystic and materialist principle in man. Using various methods of visual dialogue, they raise the question of its integrity in an era when increasing the speed of all social processes, it sucks the communicators. In this "frivolous" the context of the artists have attempted to model the "inner" and "external" components of human existence, and show how they are interrelated. The authors create a space for meditation and reflection, where the key is the method by immersion in the atmosphere of the project.

Curator Catherine Krupennikova gathered in one area of young authors from the two capitals, working in different techniques - from graphics to video art. Each in his own way sees the space of meditation, but they all agree on one thing: even though in different ways, but its existence is not only possible but necessary.

Salt - a fundamental concept that encompasses both physical and mental aspects. Salt - a symbol of vitality, a mystical element, the essence and flavor. In the exhibition "Sol", the context of boundaries arises primarily due to their leveling - young artists from different countries interpret the concept, one in essence. Salt - the concept of unlimited.

The exhibition brings together in one display works of contemporary artists of various genres. Every project or product is responsible for one salt hypostasis. The authors have created their works specifically for the show, referring to the various interpretations of the concept of "Salt: from the Biblical story of facing a pillar of salt Lot's wife in the sculpture of George Keymaha to pagan solar cult, expressed by SYN in abstract light and the sound of laser projection.

In an interactive installation Ivan Lungin and graphics with salt crystals Roman Essa revealed the materiality of this element. In the photograms Nicholas Ishchuk and installations on the basis of reactions of chemical salts Alexander Efremov can identify the concept of transformation. Sacred use of salt in the ancient Japanese tradition to expel evil spirits can be seen from Rue Shimitsu and Ani Buivid. Semantic salt - in paintings by Irina Drozd, and salt invisible - in the installation Sasha FIERCE.

All the authors approach the issue rather metaphorically, leaving the salt directly outside the brackets, their products appear on reflections on various topics salt with a certain degree of minimalism. Nevertheless, such a broad concept of allowing each work to combine several visual and semantic implications. The exhibition will be a performance with all the artists of the project on the introduction of metaphysical art in the space of time.

The authors create a space for meditation and reflection, where the key is the method by immersion in the atmosphere of the project. Curator Catherine Krupennikova gathered in one area of young authors from the two capitals, working in different techniques - from graphics to video art.
