Exhibition of paintings by Kandinsky for a world tour
Major retrospective of the work of Vasily Kandinsky will start on Saturday 25 October in Munich gallery Lenbachhaus, reported AFP. After Munich, the exhibition will move to the Pompidou Center in Paris, and from there - in the Guggenheim Museum in New York.

The American, German and French galleries, with the largest collection of paintings by Kandinsky, the first time unite their collections for a total retrospectives. The public will showcase 95 paintings by the artist, written from 1907 to 1942 and reflecting all the major periods of his creativity.
German exhibit closes Feb. 22, 2009. In Paris, Kandinsky will be displayed from April to August next year, but in New York City - from September 2009 to January 2010.
Kandinsky was born in 1866 in Moscow, but after the end of the law faculty of the University decided to link the life and art, and moved to Munich, where he studied painting. In Germany, he created the famous association of artists, expressionists "Blue Rider".
The outbreak of World Kandinsky returned to Moscow, where he found the same revolution. In 1921, Kandinsky moved to Germany and at home has never returned. He received his German citizenship and taught at the famous art school "Bauhaus", but in 1933 after the Nazis came to power he moved to France.
He died in Paris in 1944. Director of the Center Pompidou Alfred Pacman reported that the largest collection of Kandinsky's last period of creativity came to the museum by the artist's widow, Nina Kandinsky, the former younger than her husband of 30 years and was killed in 1981 in Switzerland.
The core collection galleries Lenbachhaus amount of work given to the museum another woman - the artist Gabrielle Munter, with which Kandinsky was engaged from 1903 to 1916.
