Honorary Professor of Art History at Oxford Martin Kemp (Martin Kemp) claims that he was able to detect an unknown painting by Leonardo da Vinci, wrote on October 12 The Antiques Trade Gazette. The painting, entitled "Profile of a young girl in a dress of the Renaissance" found a fingerprint similar to Da Vinci prints.
According to Kemp, multispectral analysis showed that the stamp in the upper left corner of the picture with high probability identical fingerprints on da Vinci's painting "Saint Jerome", housed in the Vatican Museum, and was written in 1481, when Italian artist was relatively unknown and did not resort to care assistants. In addition, Kemp noted that the picture, as the analysis was carried out by left-handed and has stylistic similarities with another sheet of da Vinci - Portrait of a woman in profile. Painting of 33 to 24 is executed on canvas or parchment. According to Kemp, despite the fact that among the paintings of Leonardo da Vinci, there is not one that would have been done on parchment, Italian painter, was interested in this technology and asked about her court painter of France, Jean Perrealya in 1494, when he came to Milan. According to Kemp, the picture was painted around 1496, as depicted in her Bianca Maria Sforza, daughter of the Duke of Milan, Ludovico Sforza. If you guess scientists have confirmed, this portrait will be the first portrait of the daughter of Ludovico Sforza, Leonardo da Vinci satisfied. The painting was bought at Christie's auction in 1998 for 19 thousand dollars and now owned by collector from Europe Silvermanu Peter (Peter Silverman). If the experts can confirm that the picture painted by Leonardo da Vinci, its cost, estimated at the newspaper, can rise to 100 million pounds (157.84 million dollars). That this is possible in principle, always puzzles me controversial issues! As a picture, recently sold for 19 thousand, suddenly grows in value to 150 - ty million !?!?!? How can this be? For those that are paid millions of dollars? She that has become more beautiful? More talent written? That's magic! Wow! Here's the puzzle a riddle! P.S. How then immediately thought of the Hurst ... Why? I do not know ... |

The journalists learned about the discovery of an unknown painting by Leonardo da Vinci
Boston Museum of Fine Arts has a painting that may be the work of Leonardo da Vinci. We have commissioned a museum guide examination is being conducted, which must determine authorship. This source told the newspaper The Washington Post, who requested anonymity. No other details he said. Confirmation of the rumors journalists could not be obtained. The curator of the collection of Renaissance art at Boston Museum Ilchmen Frederick (Frederick Ilchman) refused to comment on this information. Joined him and other members of the museum. Some experts have admitted that they had heard about the discovery of "new da Vinci", but did not see the picture and did not even know what it displays. If, however, the rumors are true, the picture of Boston will be the second Leonardo in America (both North and South). The only picture of the author of "Mona Lisa", stored in the United States is "Portrait of Ginevra de Bench." It is located in the National Gallery of Art in Washington. http://www.lenta.ru/news/2010/01/02/leonardo/ Добавлено через 14 минут finger Leonardo Two or three times a year the name of Leonardo da Vinci has always pops up in the press: a deranged tourist throw a cup in the "Mona Lisa", the art-conspiracy will seek an unknown self-portrait of the artist. Finally, there are more high-profile news: this time seems to have found a previously unknown figure of the Renaissance genius. Replenishing the canon - it arduous and complicated. The eve of the reported "almost reliable" identification of a female portrait, made by the hand of Leonardo, British newspapers wrote that Shakespeare managed with a high degree of confidence attributed to two-fifths of the little-known play. In fact, results were published only one other study on "Reign of Edward III", the disputed text, which, nevertheless, the second half of 1990 included a number of academic anthologies playwright. That is, in fact, Canon has expanded, but the new datum is not yet common, and when it will be - so far unclear. And here it is about the text, that is material, some fragments of which are quantifiable and analysis. But when it comes to painting, then all becomes increasingly complicated. Of course, there are analytical methods for working with pictures, for example, a comparison of strokes (in principle, even the most virtuosic and small poddelyvaemy of them, there is a will and tenacity), the study of pigments (for the XX century, it works more reliably than the older painting) and material of the canvas (fraught with too large a spread of dates). But often all of these techniques is not enough. Looking for something decisive. And in history, which we presented a Antiquities Trade Gazette, this argument is found. This is a fingerprint of the artist. This is a relatively small figure (33 by 24 centimeters) performed a pen, ink and chalk on embodied on oak leaf of parchment. The portrait in profile shows a young girl with a determined expression on his face. Her hair was done up in a complicated hairstyle, dressed it with a simple and strict. In 1998, the drawing was sold at Christie's auction for 19 thousand dollars: in the catalog, he was listed as the work of an unknown artist of the German school early XIX century. It was assumed that the image - this is a successful stylized profile portraits so popular in Italy in the XV century. Bought at Christie's picture antique dealer Kate Ganz immediately saw a similarity model to other women who wrote and painted by Leonardo. In 2007 she lost to figure in about the same amount for which it has acquired living in Europe collector Peter Silverman. The latter turned for advice to a major to art to Nicholas Turner, formerly headed the department of prints and drawings of the British Museum. Turner found that the quality of the figure is very high, and especially noticed the hatch in the picture: it is typical for left-handers (da Vinci was left-handed). Equipped with the new information, Silverman went to the Oxford professor of art history Martin Kemp. It was Kemp and launched a cutting-edge survey of painting and not just found in it the imprint of a finger, but he found a similar pattern to the undisputed Leonardo. Martin Kemp sought the help of Pascal Cotto, a French engineer-optics, and a fanatical fan of Leonardo, the founder of Lumiere Technology. Cott is known for using a specially designed camera with a high-resolution images and technology research in a variety of optical spectra was able to prove that the "Lady with an Ermine", the famous female portrait, which is stored in Cracow, was written without the help of Leonardo's pupils: the picture is not anyone's fingerprints except those that belong to the artist. In addition, Cott has established as Leonardo changing the face of "Mona Lisa": he first wrote to her eyebrows and eyelashes, and then got rid of them. But in this case, what is important is the prints. Due to the method Cotta in a short period of time managed to draw up a sort of "catalog fingers" da Vinci. Thanks to him, a team of Italian researchers even suggested that among the artist's ancestors were Arabs: to the same conclusion they came to find typical of the inhabitants of the Middle East zavitkovy pattern of papillary lines. Kemp, exploring the technique Cotta Figure from the collection of Silverman, found near the left edge of the pretty clear impression. Check with "catalog fingers, like art found in the painting" Saint Jerome "from the collection of the Vatican Museums. Important is the fact that the work of Leonardo also wrote before the gang had gathered around him assistants, therefore, the identification of a print is quite confident. Following Kemp's conclusion is obvious: the figure Silverman present a handwritten "signature" Leonardo. That is, it is - art criticism discovery of the first magnitude. Also made in Zurich radiocarbon analysis of the parchment shows a satisfactory spread dates: 1440 - 1650-ies. For Leonardo, however, strongly atypical choice of material for the drawing - the parchment. However, Kemp argues that the artist's notebooks contain reference to the fact that da Vinci was interested in the technique of chalk on parchment and turned for advice to the French court painter. Another issue, which highlighted Martin Kemp in connection with the figure from the collection Silverman - a personality image of the girl. The art historian believes that this - Bianca Maria Sforza, the illegitimate daughter of the Duke of Milan Ludovico Sforza. Her portrait was supposedly painted in 1496, when Bianca was 13 or 14 years. In the same year she married and died four months after the wedding. It is known that Leonardo wrote to the Duke's mistresses - Cecilia Gallerani (this is the "Lady with an Ermine") and Lucrezia Crivelli (her portrait is kept in the Louvre, and there is this work cautiously attributed as belonging to the Milanese Leonardo's circle). However, the portrait of mother Bianchi - Bernardino de Korradis - unknown. However, da Vinci did not write and wife Ludovic - Beatrice d'Este, as well, and the Duke, so the argument about the incompleteness of the family picture is not needed. While critics will argue about the rights and wrongs, Martin Kemp, not a collector certainly look into its own directory in the hope of seeing a third-rate work of an unknown author of Leonardo's hand. For insurance valuation figure from the collection of Silverman for the first estimations of 100 million pounds: indeed, have something to strive for.
