Beginning play in the autumn of 1996, this success in the world of Coldplay have achieved only in 2000, after the release of their second single, «Yellow» from the album Parachutes, deafening swept across the top of the charts of Great Britain and the United States. The group consists of four members: Chris Martin (Chris Martin) - vocals, keyboards, acoustic guitar, harmonica, Jonny Buckland (Jonny Buckland) - electric guitar, backing vocals Guy Berryman (Guy Berryman) - bass guitar, synthesizer, acoustic guitar, harmonica, backing vocals, Will Champion (Will Champion) - drums, keyboards, backing vocals. Coldplay albums have sold more than 30 million copies (at April 2007).

Coldplay have been active supporters of various social and political causes, such as Oxfam - Make Trade Fair campaign and Amnesty International. The group also performed at various charity projects such as Band Aid 20, Live 8, and the campaign in support of children with cancer.
