The collector gave the picture to spite the Americans to Cuba
The collector of art objects from Switzerland Braunstoun Gilbert (Gilbert Brownstone) gave Cuba nine paintings from his collection, reports Reuters, citing local media. Among them - the work of Marcel Duchamp, Roy Lichtenstein, Andre Masson, Joan Miro, Pablo Picasso, Camille Pissarro and Andy Warhol. Braunstoun dedicated transfer pictures Havana five Cuban agents who were planted in an American prison. In 1996 they participated in the attack on two planes of the Cuban dissident organization "Brothers to salvation", with which dropped leaflets calling for the overthrow of Fidel Castro. One of the planes managed to knock down, then did the U.S. trade embargo against Cuba constant. At home five American prisoners considered heroes. In response Braunstouna awarded the Order of Friendship. It is reported that the total collector plans to send Cuba 120 paintings. The Swiss holds his gallery, previously he was the curator of the Museum of Modern Art in Paris.
