Ira Moskovich was born in Galicia, in 1912, in a Jewish family. In 1914, his family moved to Prague, and in 1927 in new York. With 1928-31 he enrolled as a student in the League of students of art under the guidance of Harry Wiki. From 1935-37 lives in Paris. In 1938 Moskovich moves to new York and marries artist Anna Barry. With 1944-49, the couple reside in new Mexico. All the while the artist works efficiently and receives Guggenheim award. During the Second world war, the Ira created a series of lithographs "war Workers", which was awarded a prize at the exhibition "Artists for victory". Another lithography Storm Taos valley" was awarded the first prize of the Library of Congress in 1945. Most of my life Moskovich devotes Jewish art. Religious themes, embodied in printmaking is the greatest achievement of an artist throughout their career. From 1963-66, Ira lives in Paris. In 1967, the artist returned to new York, where it will organize a workshop in your own home. Since 2000-01, in Zeplin-Lamert gallery Santa Fe held a personal exhibition of his works, the magnificent etchings dedicated to Jewish life. Died Ira Moskovich in new York in 2001. His work has been awarded the highest awards and prizes in various competitions and exhibitions around the world.
