Ivan Stasevych , artist and Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus, born on January 9, 1929 in the village of Medvednya, Starodorozhensky in the Minsk region .
  
In 1952 he graduated from the Minsk Art School and went to Moscow to become a student of the Institute named after VI Surikov. DV Mochalsky was his teacher . In 1958, Ivan Stasevych wrote his thesis in the swamps of Belarus description of the partisan movement during World War II, in which he took part himself when still very young. Subjects of the struggle against Nazi was very important for the artist in subsequent years. There were such pictures as eternal life, that oath (1965-1967) , May ( 1945), and a happy meeting ( 1969-1970 ) . Subjects of the artist's photographs also reflects optimism post-war years , the years of construction work. In 1960, the artist worked on the construction of the Bratsk hydroelectric power station, where he painted portraits of loggers , industrial landscapes and genre scenes , such as the Angara Angara (1960) and the winners Padun Rapids ( 1961).
  
When he returned to Belarus, the artist has become closely associated with the doctrine . For many years he worked in Stasevych Minsk Institute of theater and art. Associate professor and then professor at the Institute , he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus.
 
Ivan Stasevych is an active participant in all of Russia and Belarus exhibitions . Prior to the independence of the Republic of Belarus from Russia , he was a member of the Union of Artists. His works are in museums and private collections in Belarus , Russia , Germany, France, the United States and other countries . Over the years, the creative work of the artist, was his numerous solo exhibitions.
