The Center for Fine Arts Volhonke (in the basement of the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour) opened an exhibition of paintings by old masters - Russian Antiques and Fine Arts Fair. Her dedicated work of Brueghel family, and the art of the great Flemish XVII century.
The most notable exhibit was one of the variations of paintings by Peter Paul Rubens "Satyr holding a basket of grapes, and the nymph." Head of the department of old masters Pushkin Museum of Fine Vadim cages: Quote:
Painting "Country Wedding" by Pieter Brueghel the Younger paintings inspired by the artist's father - Pieter Bruegel the Elder. Flemish artists were interested in stories of everyday rural life. Critics believe that the work of his son closer to the real rural life and, in contrast to his father, deprived of moralistic promise. Another notable work is the younger Brueghel - "Winter Landscape with a Bird Trap": a very recognizable "breygelevskogo" peace with the snow-covered hills and the small figures living their lives of the villagers. The exhibition will be presented about 40 works by Flemish masters of the XV-XVII centuries, including the work of Frans Hals and two works by Jan Brueghel the Elder (Velvet). Russian Antiques and Fine Arts Fair held for the second time: in 2012 in Moscow brought 50 paintings and 10 sculptures, including works by Pablo Picasso and Modigliani. The exhibition is not considered a pre-auction and on the Estima (preliminary value of work) is not reported, but the main purpose of the event, according to organizers - attracting the attention of professionals and the development of a "cluster of collectors."
