Information about the artist:
Rodionov, Mikhail Semenovich (1885-1956)
He studied at the studios and F.Rerberga I.Mashkova,
then at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in the picturesque office (1908-1910) and
after a break at the Sculpture (1915-18).
Member of associations "Jack of Diamonds", "Makovec" (1922, 1924-26), "Society of Moscow Artists" (1928) and AChRs (1932).
In the 1930s he worked in the studio of monumental painting, and with the VA Favorsky L.A.Bruni,
his paintings adorned the halls a few pre-war All-Union Agricultural Exhibition in Moscow.
Illustrations to the Zh.Vallesa "Youth" (1934),
Leo Tolstoy (lithography for the story "Strider" (1934, ed.
"Academia"); "War and Peace" (1935 ed. "Academia"),
