Default Russian art is worth a penny ... almost anecdote

Artwork by an unknown Russian artist "Three, leaving the farm" sold at auction Christie's (26.11.08) for a record low price - £ 10 ($ 15.40). The original price of paintings was £ 2 thousand ($ 3 thousand), but later fell in more than a hundred times, reports Bloomberg.

The famous collector of Prince Nikita Lobanov-Rostovsky dramatically raised his hand, when the auctioneer James Bruce-Gardin pointed at the picture and asked: "Did anyone give ten pounds for it?" "That was the deal of the century", - said Rostov. In addition to the announced price of the Prince paid £ 3 as a commission.
"Three, leaving the farm" was one of 117 lots on display at Christie's "Russian auctions" in London. Paintings of Russian artists made up 55%of all lots, put up yesterday, the auction house to bid. Received from the buyers the amount was below the estimate at more than twice.

Eugene, I was at this auction. Generally, it is quite usual course of an experienced auctioneer: in such a non-standard act he excites additional interest for the auction, and this time it worked, bidding went active.

Gala is one example where the school will not say that you do not learn or be left behind others, and will tell you that you have achieved outstanding success at zero, so that I would do tact and courtesy are not calling in life situations is "political correctness" is often more hampered, of course, would be better, but it turned out as always ... sometimes reaches absurd ..
hard when instead of answering the "good" or "bad", "yes" or "no" you begin to express himself politically correct, just in case ...
I think that political correctness is something separate (I think Americans invented the concept relatively recently), politeness is politeness (she was always), and refuse to express their views may be tactful and polite, but political correctness is something else, is when you real things are called by other names, "embellish" the reality, so as not to offend.
She remembered the cartoon for adults "amorous crow" when she saw a crow in a forest hare, in love, a hare was very surprised, because far from being beauties in the woods all his "oblique" is called, and the crow looked down and said, "Well what do you braid, eyes are not slanted, but slanted" (politically correct vobschem crow was)

2 Tana:

In general, to communicate with the politically correct man is always pleasant. What verbally, that in writing. Such a man is always attentive, thinking about his interlocutor, and formulates ideas, so that his interlocutor was not unpleasant. As a result, the whole conversation takes place in a calm positive manner. It is possible to argue and ostaivat its position, and thus treat the opponent with sensitivity. This is not just politeness, but orientation to the (possible) companion, taking care of him, trying to present himself in his place: it would have took your words? I'm sorry that we have to pay a little attention - the delicacy in conversation is not considered an important property (though of course these people all love

While the politically correct journalism probably boring island where everything is called "a spade" (often abusive. But it is a matter of taste: I, for example, is always more like reading a neutral text than negatively charged. Harsh words - often the same is not true, as soft. In the life of all people and phenomena are too complex ... and better to err in the good way)

I apologize for îôôòîï!

All right! Why do I need to call blacks African-Americans, and write "Tallinn"? Still, remember - there are Negroid race, but certainly not Afro-American he Negro is a Negro.

Here to recall our conversation with Lavrov, British Millibendom when, after long hours in their mutual political correctness about the truth about events in Yu Ossetia, the Russian had a couple of phrases with obscene language to explain the whole meaning of what is happening to the Englishman. And once everything was clear and understandable. I think that my dear prince has not forgotten the Russian language and uses it as the last argument in the politically correct conversations. And when for ten pounds picture won, but certainly not politically quietly expressed his pleasure
And. Half-truths does not happen, but it is true in most cases requires the express language without words-or floor-correctly.

I also think so. If the same complex about the Negro because of what would be called "nigger", that is his problem, not mine.
Question to nowhere: But interestingly, as the politically correct name rosseyskih Blacks ...
