Both watercolors very professional work.
The first is that made in the late 19th century , and the second - perhaps , too, though perhaps even earlier.
The fact that the latter is lined by the squares , would indicate that this is a sketch for the painting , and quite a decent size .

The author was obviously under the influence of some water-colors , for example, E. Delacroix .

National School of Hard to define . Frenchman ?
