The newspaper Kommersant »№ 24 (4565) on 11.02.2011
Auctions Christie's in London, "The Art of Impressionism, Modernism and Surrealism," collected in one night £ 84,9 million ($ 136.3 million). According to observers of Bloomberg, this impressive amount was received by Russian collectors. However, for the western art market characterized by a suspect of any buyer who pays higher prices reasonable, Russian, says TATIANA MARKINA. Christie's auction went very well - has sold 79%of the proposed lots, preliminary expectations of experts at home were exceeded. Present at the auction, observers from the Bloomberg agency concluded that at least £ 20 million of the amount received at auction paid Russian, and by telephone. The auction house did not disclose the names of their customers, but noted that 23%were from UK, 49%- clients from Europe, 23%- from the U.S. and 5%- from Asia and other countries. Russian on the list are not specified, but all those of our customers who can pay $ 5.10 million for a work of art, have business interests in Europe and proudly registered as Europeans. Russian attributed to the following transactions: Cubo-Futurist landscape Natalia Goncharova, "The Apple Tree in Bloom in 1912 (£ 3,9 million on estimeyte £ 2,5-3,5 million). Landscape minute left in the phone, which he kept head of impressionist and modernist Christie's Thomas Seydoux. In addition to the buyer at the same address went fovistsky landscape Andre Derain "Boats at Collioure" in 1905 for £ 5,9 million (estimate: £ 4-6 million). Three more purchases made for your phone, customer specialist at Christie's work with Russian customers Sandra Nedvetskaya. This is a record of Pierre Bonnard painting "Terrace at Vernon" in 1923, which reached £ 7,2 million on estimeyte £ 3-4 million and became the most expensive product for this late-impressionist, and Rene Magritte "magnet" with a picture of a naked woman on background curtain (£ 4,7 million on estimeyte £ 3,5-5,5 million). The same buyer purchased the actress Lily Damita "Kees van Dongen for 3 million (estimate: £ 1,5-2 million). Given that Ms Nedvetskaya comes from Kiev, we can assume that her client was not the Russian-speaking Russian to Ukrainian as well, as indicated by other messages describing him as the representative "of the former Soviet Union." In general, the western art market characterized by a suspect of any buyer who pays higher prices reasonable, Russian. On the one hand, it provokes the peculiarities of national character, on the other - be explained the financial base: last year the growth in commodity prices was 34%(according to the index, Standard & Poor's) and gave a trump card in the hands of collectors from countries that export raw materials. Works of art for centuries successfully serve as a place of storage of money, from this point of view of impressionists and modernists - the most capacious section. In particular, last year the turnover of this section, Christie's was £ 766 million and took first place in the list of key departments of the auction house (there is no doubt that he will be in first place and at Sotheby's). On the other hand, it's not bought, nobody "Still Life" Hope "by Paul Gauguin, who was declared the top-lot auction Christie's. So what that he was valued at £ 7-10 million and that it would like the artist sums up his life and tells about the sources of his creativity. What we Gauguin? Still life, it was dark and full of some brown, and paintings Bonnard, Derain, Goncharova - vivid and emotionally compelling. In the words of the London art dealer Guy Jennings in an interview with Bloomberg, "it is such to look good in a house on the Cote d'Azur." http://www.kommersant.ru/doc.aspx?Do...2519&NodesID=8 Последний раз редактировалось I-V; 11.02.2011 в 15:51. |

and to me that Gauguin seemed suddenly did not seem to-not Gauguin and Van Gogh, and so do not get that ... The most attractive seemed to me an early Picasso, especially from the Chicago Art Institute. They got him. Deren has become increasingly popular. Was in the Salon of baguette on the wall who is in a chic frame? Deren! and the work that I do not know. Amazed.

With regard Fauves at all, their investment potential is considered in this, although outdated (2005), but interesting article.
