Vladimir V. Sterligov (1904 - 1973) - famous Russian artist, Kazimir Malevich's disciple, one of the great masters Petersburg avant-garde, the founder of the "third wave" avant-garde in the 50 - 60 years of XX century. Continuing scientific and philosophical construct their teacher, behind the "direct" Malevich Sterligov put "curve" basis pictorial space. Based on the properties of the "curve" V. Sterligov created the famous theory of "chashno-dome" of space, a fundamental element of the beautiful and spiritual worldview. Important role in the formation of this theory played his wife and comrade Tatiana Glebova, a student of Paul Filonov.
In the 60 years VV Sterligov and TN Glebova settled at Peterhof, and gathered around him a circle of pupils, later called the "school Sterligov. Along with teaching the traditions of European painting, which included the Impressionists, Cezanne, Fauves, banned in official institutions, and Glebova Sterligov passed the younger generation the traditions of the two founders of the Russian avant-garde - Malevich and Filonov. The school does not split after the death of V. Sterligov and TN Glebova, their students have retained figurative perception and beautiful craftsmanship Petersburg avant-garde, some, in turn, educate students and create a school.
