Smile Bolshoi Theatre accused of concealing the penis of the statue of Apollo

the Bolshoi accused of concealing the penis of the statue of Apollo

The newly renovated Grand Theatre in Moscow has been accused of excessive bigotry after the restoration "covered up" penis gigantic statue of the Greek god Apollo's quadriga on top of the gable of the Bolshoi Theatre.
The world famous Opera and Ballet Theatre recently reopened its doors after six years of restoration for 500 million pounds in the premiere of the opera "Ruslan and Ludmila".
But the astute bloggers have questioned the decision to "restore" the statue of Apollo, the manager of a chariot drawn by four horses at the top of the gable of the theater and covering his genitals with a fig leaf.
Restorers Theater insist that they simply restored the statue in its original form. Originally a sculptor Peter Klodt made a fig leaf to the statue in the nineteenth century to rid the theater of the need to blush, they say, but a piece of "fallen off" under mysterious circumstances shortly after the Second World War, exposing penis mythical deity. Nude statue sported over the center of Moscow for most of the Soviet era.
Bloggers have questioned this version of events and wonder - why would then generally took a sculptor to sculpt the penis, if the original statue was to be covered by a fig leaf.
"The idea is once the fig leaf" fell off "on the sculpture in this location should not have been formed member. Why do Klodt removable sheet?" - Asked one blogger. "Under the leaf just did not meant to be. Well, I do not know. Do not preserved before the Revolution (or at least pre-war) photos?"
Resonance debate said that the statue (complete with a penis) is the image of the Bolshoi Theater, which is decorated with a 100-ruble banknote of the country.
In addition to the rather impressive leaflets, the work on the sculpture was returned to her lost laurel wreath in her right hand.
