Participation in the salons Hirschfeld noted the official awards and favorable reviews of criticism, and in 1910 he was awarded the Legion d'Honneur. In the spring of 1914 in Paris, held a personal exhibition of the artist. Hirschfeld settled in Brittany, in the seaside town of Concarneau, where he spent most of his life. Equally favorably responded to the criticism and the Odessa Hirschfeld participate in exhibitions of the Association of South Russian artists in 1901-1902.
